The Flint Hills Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America is rooted in the belief that socialism is not an abstract ideal, it is built through the daily, collective work of ordinary people organizing their communities, demanding dignity in their housing, engaging in civic life, and developing the political consciousness necessary to challenge systems of exploitation toward revolutionary liberation.
Our chapter organizes across four interconnected fronts: a housing justice and tenant organizing working group organizes through our partner organization, Flint Hills Tenants United; community engagement through our Community Involvement and Volunteer Initiatives Committee; political education through the Political Education Committee which hosts various forms of collaborative learning; and our Political Action Committee, which mobilizes individuals and groups around those issues which have a direct impact on our daily lives. Together, these efforts form a local practice of socialist politics. Click on the themes below to explore them in more depth.
