Members of the Flint Hills DSA met on Saturday, July 18, 2026 for the annual chapter convention, which took place at the Manhattan Public Library. During the all-day event, the chapter joined together to sing the the chapter song, Bloom Red and White. After a fun icebreaker, members learned about the history of the chapter and listened to a review of the growth over the past year. The chapter grew by 46 members in the last year alone.

After lunch, members took time to reflect and workshop future goals of the chapter and made decisions about changes they would like to see. This was followed by the annual review of the chapter bylaws and then the election of a new steering committee and two new chapter grievance officers, as pictured above.

Besides the chapter officer elections, other orders of business that members voted on during the convention was changing general body meetings to the second Monday of each month, and changing the location of the weekly casual social event – fequency and day of the week are still pending availability of location but will be announced soon.
